How to read an IP lookup

What an unknown result means
Rate limits, missing records, or timeouts can produce unknown results. Unknown does not mean an address is proxy-free or safe. Read the source status and observation time alongside your own connection context.
Frequently asked questions
Can I look up a private IP?
No. Private addresses are reused across local networks and have no unique internet location. This tool accepts public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
Does a lookup scan the target?
The lookup reads IP intelligence and routing data. It does not connect to arbitrary ports on the address you enter.
